On Monday 3rd June, the official launch of Lincoln as a City of Sanctuary took place, celebrating the work being undertaken in Lincoln and the surrounding region to support those who have come to the UK in search of sanctuary.

Lincoln City of Sanctuary is comprised of individuals, local businesses, organisations, institutions and faith community members, including representatives from the University of Lincoln, working to welcome and support those fleeing conflict, disaster, and similar .

The network will support communities by bringing together and developing activities that support sanctuary seekers, including sharing University research.

50 attendees from community and local organisations, faith groups, the City and County Councils and University of Lincoln, including colleagues from the Justice, Arts and Migration Network, came together to share their inspirational stories and plans for the future; making connections to support and link all of the projects moving forward, inspire others to get involved and start further initiatives that support sanctuary in the region.
