Initial test pits are being dug tomorrow, Friday 15 March, in preparation for assessing any further archaeological works that might be required in relation to the construction of the Medical School later in the year. This will involve two test pits on the grassed area in front of the Janet Lane Claypon Building as agreed with the City Archaeologist. The University has carried out extensive archaeology works on recent capital projects to provide an increasing depth of knowledge of the history of civilisation on our Campus. Items recovered are now held at The Collection Museum in the city.
