At the University of Lincoln, the Excellence in Public Engagement with Research awards recognise staff and students who have made outstanding contributions to engaging people and communities beyond the university in new knowledge, invention and discovery.
Anyone at the University can be nominated, whether they are individual members of staff, individual students or a team. All nominations are assessed by a panel of public engagement experts, including . Anyone can nominate a member of staff, a student or team for an award.

Before you complete the nomination form, please ensure that you have read the eligibility criteria and guidance below.
Deadline: All nominations must be received by Wednesday 16th June
Outcomes: Those who have submitted nominations will be informed of the outcome week commencing 27th June. Recipients of Research Excellence Awards will be informed 24 hours after to allow the nominator to inform them if they so wish.

About the Awards
The Excellence in Public Engagement with Research Awards 2022 are part of the University of Lincoln’s annual Research Excellence Awards.

Individual winners of Public Engagement with Research Excellence Awards shall receive £350 to their reward account.

Team winners of Public Engagement with Research Excellence Team Awards shall receive £500 to their nominated budget.

If any nominations are deemed to represent exceptional work that goes beyond and above the the award criteria, nominees may be reccommended by the panel for the Vice Chancellor’s Award.

Vice Chancellors Award winner individual will receive £500 to their reward account.

If there is a team winner of the Vice Chancellor Award they shall receive £1000 to their budget.

Eligibility
To be eligible for an award, nominees should:
- Be a member of staff or student at the University of Lincoln
- Have been involved in the activity/ies mentioned in the applicaiton in a substantial capacity.
- Have engaged at least 10 members of the public (unless it is justified as to why fewer individuals were involved).
- Have been involved in public engagement which focusses on a specific, identified piece/area of research.
- Have been part of a formally organised activity (e.g. demonstration, experiment, consultation, workshop, festival, exhibition) rather than an informal encounter.
